From pop-up galleries to the well-established institutions of the city, come and explore opportunities and challenges in creating an arts and culture scene for the city of Boston. Join panelists including Allyson Esposito, Arts and Culture Director of the Boston Foundation; Kelly Brilliant, Executive Director of the Fenway Alliance; Martin Zogran, Principal and urban planner at Sasaki Associates, and other cultural planning leaders to discuss how the evolving landscape of arts and culture is transforming Boston’s communities.
Boston is home to two officially-designated “Cultural Districts,” with additional designations expected in the coming year. What makes these and other communities culturally vibrant? How do they express their unique cultural assets? What role do urban design professionals, art curators, presenting institutions, and funders play in the cultural life of a community?
A companion walking tour of Avenue of the Arts (Huntington Avenue) will take place on Saturday April 2 at 11:00am.
